SERVICING MELBOURNE

Who we are

Play Partners is a Melbourne-based paediatric occupational therapy service providing assessment and therapy for children aged 5 and under. Our aim is to empower families with a core focus on building strong connections with both children and their caregivers. At Play Partners, we are here to walk alongside you on this journey, embracing children’s interests and strengths while providing the guidance and support necessary to help them reach their potential.

What we do

At Play Partners, we believe in the power of play-based therapy, allowing children to engage in enjoyable and purposeful activities while simultaneously addressing their developmental needs.

Through this approach, we aspire to create a positive and nurturing environment where children can thrive and grow.

Through comprehensive therapy programs we support the development of skills across areas of fine motor skills, gross motor skills, play skills, self-care, and emotional regulation. Our interventions focus on building essential skills, fostering independence, and enhancing social-emotional well-being, all while engaging in fun and purposeful activities.

Our Values

We are dedicated to empowering children and their families throughout their therapeutic journey. With a focus on fostering a warm and supportive atmosphere, we strive to inspire growth, confidence, and a sense of accomplishment in every child we work with.

Inclusive

Embracing and respecting the diverse backgrounds, abilities, and cultures of the children and families served. At our practice, we celebrate neurodiversity, acknowledging the beauty of different neurological profiles. We strive to create a safe and inclusive space where each child feels accepted and valued.

Child-centred

The child is placed at the centre of the therapeutic process. We prioritise understanding each child's strengths, challenges, and sensory preferences, tailoring interventions to suit their individual needs. We actively involve parents and caregivers in the therapeutic process, acknowledging that they play a vital role in supporting their child's development. By collaboratively setting goals and involving families in therapy, we ensure that progress extends beyond our sessions.

Knowledge

We are committed to providing a service that is informed by up-to-date evidence in conjunction with clinical expertise, client perspectives and knowledge to inform assessment and intervention. We are dedicated to ongoing education and professional development.
